Crowdfunder is an initiative aimed at the Lisburn and Castlereagh areas.
Crowdfunder Ltd has teamed up with Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council and Finegan Gibson Accountants Ltd to identify one initiative to participate in its ‘Projects That Matter.’
The successful entry will receive a pledge of £1,000 from Crowdfunder after they launch a project on Crowdfunder.co.uk and raise at least a further £1,000 from a minimum of 30 supporters from 8 April to 10 May.
Through the partner organisations they will also receive support and mentoring to grow their Crowdfunder project and receive coverage on the council’s social media channels to assist with the promotion of their project.
Entrants must be not-for-profit groups or organisations. Projects that would be eligible include those that make a positive difference to people’s lives eg helping the homeless, addressing mental health or tackling the issue of plastic waste.
In support of this competition, Chair of Leisure and Community Development, Alderman Paul Porter said this is a fantastic opportunity for those extraordinary people in the community who are working extremely hard to make positive changes and provide support to those who need it most.
“It is a chance for supporting those who are already dedicating their time to support others and I urge groups and organisations to apply as soon as possible, to avail of the £1000 boost and the support from the council,” he added.
Entry closes on Friday 22 February at 5:30pm. The winner will be announced on Friday 1 March.
