A man armed with a knife and gun made off with a sum of money and a quantity of alcohol from an off-licence in north Belfast last night (Saturday).
The armed robbery occurred at premises on the Oldpark Road at around 10:40pm. It’s believed that there may have been two other men waiting outside the premises, and that the three headed off, on foot, towards Ardoyne.
Detective Sergeant Conlan said police received a report that a man armed with a knife and gun entered an off-licence in the area at around 10.40pm.
“There were no reports of any injuries; however, this must have been a frightening ordeal for staff,” said Detective Sergeant Conlan
Detectives investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses and information.
“I am appealing to anyone who has information, or who noticed any suspicious activity in the area around that time, to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 2029 of 01/06/19,” added Detective Sergeant Conlan.
