The passenger window of a car parked at Mallusk Playing Fields was smashed and a handbag stolen from under the seat.
The theft occurred last Wednesday (July 3).
The woman left her vehicle unattended for an hour, between 6:30pm and 7:30pm, and when she returned she found the window smashed and her handbag gone.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the car park at the time to come forward.
And they are warning people to never leave belongings inside their vehicles.
“Let this be a harrowing reminder that there are opportunistic individuals out there who will take advantage of any chance they get. Please where you can, don’t leave any valuables in your vehicles and remain vigilant,” said a police spokesperson.
Any information please contact 101 reference serial number 1891 of 03/07/19, say police.
