Man in 50s shot in knee in New Mossley

A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital after being shot in the knee in New Mossley in Newtownabbey.

The incident happened just after 7pm.


Inspector Julian Buchanan said police received a report that a man had been shot in the right knee.

“The man, aged in his 50s has been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which, at this time do not appear to be life threatening, but have the potential to be life changing.

“Our enquiries are at an early stage, and I appeal to anyone with information to call detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1690 of 18/11/20.

“You can also submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous,” he added.
