Storm Amy clean-up operations will be intensifying this morning as agencies work to restore the power, water and transport networks for all users across Northern Ireland.
However, police want to remind the public that a yellow warning remains in place for strong winds across all of Northern Ireland until 23:59 on Saturday 4 October. A yellow warning for rain is also in place until noon on Saturday.
This could cause further disruption and might complicate power and transport restoration efforts.
Police are particularly urging road users to exercise extra care and attention when driving. Surface water, flooding, fallen debris or temporary restrictions are all a strong possibility. Some roads are currently closed due to fallen trees or flooding. Everyone should still avoid unnecessary travel but if you must travel take extra care and please reduce your speed.
NIE Networks has again urged the public to stay well clear of any power lines or damaged electricity equipment they may come across. This should be reported immediately.
