Reports of bright lights and UFOs off the south-west coast of Ireland are being investigated by the Irish Aviation Authority.
A British Airways pilot contacted Shannon air traffic control on Friday after witnessing the unusual activity in the sky.
The pilot said an object appeared at the left side of the aircraft before it ‘rapidly veered to the north.’ The pilot described the sighting as a ‘very bright light.’

Another pilot from a Virgin plane suggested the light might be a meteor.
Following reports from a small number of aircraft, of unusual air activity the IAA has filed a report, the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) has said.
