Did you know you can donate old mascara wands to help wildlife?
One of the sanctuaries collecting clean wands is The New Arc – a wildlife sanctuary in Aberdeenshire in the North East of Scotland. Staff there use the wands to groom their little residents, which include baby ducklings and bunnies.
The sanctuary has been appealing for wands which will be used to clean off oil, larvae, fly eggs, mites, infections, mud and other forms of contamination.
Posting on their Facebook page, the sanctuary said the cosmetic brushes will help them ‘get ready for this year’s baby season.’
Social media users have voiced their determination to collect as many wands as possible. In the event that the sanctuary is inundated, staff have found another source to pass them on to.
