More than a million people around the world have died as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University which has been tracking the outbreak, also shows that more than 33 million cases have been reported.
A total of 210 countries and territories have been affected since the pandemic began in December 2019.
Meanwhile in Northern Ireland, an entire primary school has completely shutdown for 14 days due to COVID-19. St. Comgall’s Primary School in Bangor has become the first school to close.
And the Bishop’s Gate Hotel in Londonderry will be closed again today (Tuesday) after three members of staff tested positive for COVID-19. The hotel will reopen on Wednesday.
The Northern Ireland Executive has announced an 11pm curfew for pubs, restaurants and social events including weddings.
The curfew for the hospitality sector will apply from midnight on Wednesday and last orders will be at 10.30pm.
