9,000 firefighters battling wildfires in California while over 100 people are still missing

Around 9,000 firefighters are currently battling wildfires across California.

And the director of the US emergency agency has said the town of Paradise will require a ‘total rebuild’ likely to take years.

Brock Long, administrator of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), said the wildfire has been ‘one of the worst disasters’ he has seen.

Over 50 people have been declared dead and over 100 remain missing.

In a tweet yesterday (Wednesday) President Donald Trump said he has been briefed on the situation by Brock Long and Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke.
