A handbag was stolen from a car while it was parked in Randalstown Forest Park.
A couple returned to their car after a quiet Sunday walk in the forest park to see a smashed window and a missing handbag.
Police say two arrests were made within 90 minutes of the incident being reported and thankfully some of the woman’s property was recovered.
The theft has prompted police to issue warnings about leaving handbags and other valuables within sight in their cars.
“This woman has learnt the hard way about leaving belongings in plain sight for opportunistic dishonest people.
“For the rest of us, please take this as a reminder not to leave belongings in your vehicles. Lock it out of sight or better still take them with you!” said a police spokesperson.
