A cat has died in Switzerland after being sprayed in the face with waterproof yellow paint in an incident that has outraged animal lovers.
The 13-year-old cat, named Miggeli, lived with Sina Kunz near the French border in Biel-Benken, but last Saturday (May 18) she was targeted by a malicious attacker. When the cat returned home, Sina noticed she was covered in yellow paint.
The story has been reported in Basellandschaftliche Zeitung.
The 13-year-old cat sadly died three days after the attack.
Her owner reported the incident to the police, who believe the culprit is the same animal abuser who had abused other pets.
Miggeli’s owner believes her cat was an easy target due to her age.
In another incident Haxli, aged six, had her claws and whiskers cut off and her fur shaved off.
The day after Miggeli returned home covered in paint, a one-year-old male cat called Gringo was discovered with his two front legs and jaw broken.
His owner believes his legs were broken with a pair of pliers.
The incidents have led to outrage.
