Over 2.5 million people have signed a petition calling for no digital ID.
Keir Starmer has announced plans to make digital cards mandatory for people working in the UK by the year 2029.
People have criticised the plans, saying it infringes on civil liberties.
Petitions that receive more than 100,000 signatures are considered for a debate in parliament. However, it is not clear whether they can have an impact upon government policy.
