An intruder forced entry to a house in south Belfast and threatened a man with a screwdriver after being confronted.
The intruder then fled the property in Burmah Street, empty handed.
Detectives are investigating the aggravated burglary which occurred around 5:45am this morning (Saturday 29 June).
The suspect is described as being around 5ft 9” tall, of medium build and aged in his 30s. He is believed to have been wearing a grey baseball cap with a white trim on the peak and a dark grey hoodie with a curved logo and dark trousers. He was also carrying a dark rucksack.
Detective Sergeant Sam McCallum is asking anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area of Burmah Street or who has any information about this incident to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 509 29/06/19.
