Hooray for Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel chain.
It has announced that it will no longer use single-use toiletry bottles.
This is to reduce the environmental impact. The company estimates that the move will prevent 500 million small bottles annually from going to landfill sites.
The move will eliminate single-use bottles of shampoo, conditioner and bath gel from hotel rooms worldwide by December 2020.
These will be replaced by larger bottles or wall-mounted dispensers, depending on the hotel.

Last year, Walt Disney said it would get rid of small plastic shampoo bottles at its resorts and on its cruise ships. Other hotels such as the five Soneva Resorts in Thailand and the Maldives, have also eliminated plastic bottles.
