A 26-year-old man has been arrested following the theft of a trailer from the Largy Road area of Ahoghill this morning.
The trailer was discovered stolen at around 4am.
Detective Sergeant Toni Lenaghan said it was reported that the trailer was stolen from a property in the area.
The trailer and a dark coloured car were later recovered from the Lisnafillon Road area a short time afterwards.
The man was arrested on suspicion of theft, disorderly behaviour and going equipped following the recovery of the trailer at the scene.
He is currently in police custody.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 198 29/08/19.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” added Detective Sergeant Toni Lenaghan.
