Children as young as 12 have been involved in anti-social behaviour which led to windscreens being broken after missiles were hurled at vehicles in north Belfast.
One car had its windscreen smashed and a train windscreen was also broken.
Drivers on the Shore Road and in the Greencastle area and on the M2 were targeted by missiles.
Police have condemned the anti-social behaviour.
“This kind of behaviour is totally reckless – imagine driving along at motorway speeds and suddenly having a brick come through your windscreen. It was fortunate that this situation didn’t result in a collision,” said a police spokesperson.
Over the weekend, police also attended domestic incidents, reports of telephone scams and they dealt with a number of bail breaches. They made 16 arrests over the last two days.
