A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries after he was assaulted in Carrickfergus last night (Friday).
He was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident which happened at Blackthorn Park just before 10:30pm.
Detectives are appealing for information.
Detective Sergeant Crothers said the man’s injuries are described as ‘serious.’
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the assault or has any information in relation to the incident, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 2206 24/04/20.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” he added.
