Two viable devices have been found during a security alert in Craigavon.
The security alert began this morning in the Pinebank area (Sunday) following the discovery of two suspicious objects.
Army Technical Officers examined the two objects and have declared them both to be viable devices. They have now been removed for further examination.
Residents have been allowed to return to their homes and the section of Pinebank that was closed to traffic has re-opened.
Inspector Adam Ruston said thankfully no one was injured.
“We’re grateful to local people for their patience today. Families had to leave their homes, having their afternoon disrupted, while we worked to make the area safe.
“Most importantly, it’s fortunate that no-one was physically injured. The consequences of this could have been devastating,” he said.
And he is appealing for information.
