Two men and a woman have been arrested by a police patrol who spotted a stolen car being driven on the Falls Road in west Belfast shortly before 1am this morning.
The silver Mercedes had been stolen during a creeper burglary at an address in Notting Hill, Belfast during the early hours of Thursday 14 May.
A stinger device was deployed by officers in order to bring the vehicle to a safe halt.
The three occupants, two men aged 21 and 22, and an 18-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including burglary, theft, ‘taking and driving away’ and possession of an offensive weapon. A large knife and a hammer were found inside the vehicle.
Inspector Philip McCullagh said the car has been recovered and all three suspects remain in police custody at present.
