Schools are asking parents to be vigilant when their teenagers are using TikTok due to the presence of a distressing video which has gone ‘viral.’
Users are continuing to upload versions of the clip to various apps and websites, days after the August 31 livestream.
Social media sites are still attempting to remove the incident.
There are reports that the video has appeared on TikTok’s ‘For You’ trending homepage which means it is easily accessed millions of people.
TikTok provides clear instructions on how to report distressing videos that may breach their rules and regulations.
If you find an upsetting clip, open the video and press the share button, tap report and follow the online instructions.
Both accounts and comments can be reported.
Users also say the clip is still appearing on Facebook and Instagram.
On Facebook, you can report a photo or video that you believe violates regulations by clicking on the post to expand it. Hover over the image and hit ‘options’. Click to report and select the option that best describes the issue, then follow the instructions.
On Instagram, tap the three dots above the photo or video post, click report, and then select the reason for reporting the post.
