Two further people have died and 40 new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in Northern Ireland.
That’s according to figures released by the Department of Health.

Meanwhile, in an interview with ITV News, Professor John Edmunds – a member of the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies – raised the prospect not just of more local lockdowns but also of renewed national restrictions on the mainland. He warned that coronavirus cases are “increasing exponentially”.
And he said that the autumn will be a challenge, due to schools and universities re-opening.
