A train with passengers on board was forced to make an emergency stop after a car was set on fire and abandoned on railway tracks on the Limestone Road, Limavady, last night (Monday April 12).
The incident occurred at approximately 7.45pm on the railway line between Londonderry and Coleraine.
Chief Inspector MclIdowney described the incident as a ‘reckless endangerment to life.’ He has praised the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.
“Our investigation is currently underway to establish the circumstances into this incident. We are appealing for any witnesses to contact police, quoting serial number 1945 of the 12/04/21,” he added.
