Irish singer/songwriter based in Belfast, Anton Glackin has just released a new piece of music, My Queen of the May.
The Tyrone man’s inspiration for the song has come from the short lifespan of the mayfly on the shores of Lough Neagh. The folk ballad is a beautifully constructed and performed catchy piece.
It has been produced by Peter Ware (Charlie Landsborough), with session contributions from musicians in both Ireland and Nashville.
My Queen of the May follows the success of a clutch of radio hits for Anton, including Dust Clouds, The Day Hank Williams Died, That Dark Horse and Don’t Rock Where the Alligator Rolls,.
Charting across Europe, Anton has toured extensively across the mid-western USA as well as performing in the country heartland of Nashville.
At home he’s shared stages with many well-known artists, everyone from the late Nanci Griffith and touring heroes Bagatelle to Midge Ure and Smokie, reflecting the fact that he is one of the busiest performers on the folk and country circuits.
Prestigious release service Hot Disc nominated Anton as one of its artists of the year in 2019 with hugely positive feedback across a network with global reach.
Anton plans to continue touring the USA when safe to do so, but continues to write and record. My Queen of the May will surely solidify Anton’s growing reputation as a noteworthy performer and writer of quality songs.
