Police are treating an arson attack on an Orange Hall in Magherafelt as a ‘hate crime.’
The attack occurred at Ballynougher Orange Hall on the Aghagaskin Road on Sunday, 30 October shortly before 5pm.
Firefighters from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze.
Detective Sergeant Brian Reid said police believe that entry was forced through a window at the rear of the property and that accelerant has then been used to start the fire which has left the building extensively damaged.
An investigation is underway and police are treating the incident as a hate crime.
