Facebook, Instagram: outages reported

Facebook and Instagram users have been locked out in what appears to be an issue with the platforms.

Instead of loading the news feed, users are presented with the login screen. Despite using inputting the correct email and password, the app does not launch.

Users took to social media to express concern about the locking out, with some wondering whether they had been hacked.

Messages on X read: ‘Anyone else’s Facebook logged out? Can’t log back in, keeps saying session expired or unexpected error?’ and ‘Has Facebook just booted anyone else out of their account and keeps giving random error messages anytime you try to log back in or is it just me?’

Discord users also reported issues, but these seem to have been resolved.
