A man has been left with a broken leg after being attacked by a gang of masked men who broke into his home and beat him with bats and pick axe handles.
The incident happened at a house in St John’s Place, Larne, in the early hours of Monday.
Police say this was a ‘ferocious and inhuman attack’ which occurred in front of a woman and two young children who were left traumatised.
The victim sustained a number of injuries including a suspected broken leg. He is currently undergoing treatment in hospital.
Police say they believe that the men left the area in a vehicle following the attack.
They’re appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area to get in touch.
