House of Fraser has appointed administrators as the chain collapses, but for the Belfast store it’s business as usual.
The struggling high street chain had already announced it was to close 31 stores after costs spiralled out of control.
The chain department store has 59 outlets, including the 31 already earmarked for closure, and employs around 17,500 people.
Retail billionaire Mike Ashley is reported to be close to making an offer, and a deal could be reached with administrators as early as this morning, according to Sky News.
House of Fraser said parts of the store could still be rescued, most likely through a process, where the buyer cherry picks the best assets.
EY, which is expected to be appointed today, will continue discussions with interested parties in the hope of reaching a deal.
