This morning’s discovery of a suspicious object in Antrim which sparked a security alert has been declared an elaborate hoax.
The Niblock Road in Antrim has now reopened and residents who were evacuated from their properties have now returned.
The suspicious object was discovered around 8:40am.
The object, which has been declared as an elaborate hoax, has been taken away for further examination.
Inspector Porter said police would like to thank the local community for their patience during this safety operation.
