Man bags are in the news again, having slid into the mainstream fashion world.
They have evolved rapidly beyond the messenger style bag and the male backpack. This season’s trends were on show at the Prada Autumn 2018 event, where models, male and female, took to the runway with nylon bags.
Other luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo and Gucci have demonstrated their manly bags over the past few months. And if you can’t afford to fork out such high prices, check out the high street retailers like Zara and H&M who have developed their own range of bags at affordable prices.
Earlier this month, Prince Harry was spotted with a man bag at a polo, thought to be the Jet Bag by luggage maker Globe-Trotter.
And whatever your travel plans, carrying a weekend bag through the airport, suggests you have good fashion sense as well as the gift of practicality.
A man bag is perfect for stowing under your seat on the aircraft, but do double check measurements.
You’ll find affordable options in high street stores for around £100, but you can easily spend ten times that if you want to bag yourself a designer label.
And if you really want to look ultra cool, look for a bag that matches the shoes or boots you wear most often.
