Burglar flees empty handed after being disturbed in north Belfast apartment

A burglar made off empty handed from an apartment in the Queen’s Square area of north Belfast this morning (Sunday, February 10) after he was disturbed.

Police say shortly before 6.30am a man, aged in his 60s, disturbed the intruder who had forced his way in.


The man, who is described as being aged in his early 20s, and approximately 5ft 8” to 5ft 9” tall, of slim build and black hair, made off empty handed.

Detective Constable Reynolds is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a man matching the description of the suspect, or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to call detectives in Musgrave on 101, quoting reference 386 10/02/19.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
