100-year-old Captain Sir Tom Moore has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been taken to hospital where he is being treated for pneumonia.
His daughter Hannah made the announcement on Sunday afternoon.
The post on Twitter said Captain Sir Tom was not in intensive care.
The Second World War veteran became famous for raising over £30 million for health service charities by walking laps of his garden.
