The total number of global cases has passed 932,000 and is heading toward one million.
This includes more than 47,000 fatalities.
Over 193,000 patients are reported to have recovered.

Comedian Eddie Large, best known for being part of Little and Large, has died after contracting COVID-19 in hospital, according to his agent.
His son, Ryan McGinnis, posted on Facebook: “It is with great sadness that Mum and I need to announce that my dad passed away in the early hours of this morning.
“He had been suffering with heart failure and unfortunately, whilst in hospital, contracted the coronavirus, which his heart was sadly not strong enough to fight.”
And Adam Schlesinger, a musician and songwriter known for his work with the band Fountains of Wayne has died as a result of coronavirus complications. He was 52.
Schlesinger died on Wednesday morning after spending time ‘very sick and heavily sedated’ in a New York hospital.
