The Gucci Spring Summer 2019 collection has been inspired by theatre and nightlife, according to the brand.
The collection was presented inside the Théâtre Le Palace in Paris, but it’s raised a few eyebrows on social media, with people questioning the viability of the garments.
Jared Leto was modelling for the fashion brand, and he wore a custom Gucci silk floral and patchwork printed caftan, and a shawl collar velvet robe with his initials, floral embroidery and fringe details. He completed his ensemble with socks and high-top trainers.
The collection has attracted negative attention, however, with a social media user taking to the official Gucci page and pointing out how impractical the garments are:
This is the ugliest, stylized collection. Ridiculous combinations. However, looking at singular pieces, many of the suit jackets are beautiful and well cut. But they’re practically hidden behind hideous combinations. And underwear on the outside….. REALLY?!?? Really??????

This particular collection makes me understand why their plain white t-shirts with only a logo was an instant hit… It’s a master piece compared to this rubbish. And they didn’t have to work for it. 10 seconds on the computer, and the t-shirts are designed?
