A video online has revealed the amount of sugar in one of our favourite chocolate eggs – but no one is surprised!
Ray Hodgson shared a clip of a child demonstrating how much sugar is in a Cadbury Creme Egg – around 6.5 teaspoons – and he is urging parents not to give them to children.
However most people have replied, stating they are well aware of the sugar content, and that this is part of the attraction.
The original post is courtesy of Michael I Goran, a professor of paediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and a campaigner for reducing sugar consumption among kids.
He has offered an alternative recipe here.
This is horrifying!
Guess how much sugar is in one Cadbury’s Easter Creme Egg?
Answer: more sugar than is recommended for kids of most ages for a whole day!
