How to avoid PayPal’s £12 annual ‘inactivity’ fee

PayPal is set to introduce an annual fee of up to £12 for users whose accounts have been inactive for a year or more.

All anyone with an online payment company account has to do is log into their account or carry out a transaction before December 15.

The fee will be charged from December 16. The users will be charged the fee if their accounts have been inactive for at least 12 consecutive months.

PayPal defines ‘inactive’ as an account which has not been used to send, receive or withdraw money. It also includes logging into the account.

There is more information on the MSE website.

If you don’t have any money in your PayPal account, you won’t be charged a fee, even if you have a credit or debit card linked to the account.
