An iconic tree situated in the grounds of Trinity College in Dublin has collapsed.
The Oregon maple toppled over in high winds at around 5am this morning (Saturday).
It had been brought from the Americas in the 1840s.
The university tweeted that ‘generations will miss this magnificent tree.’
