Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will recommence flights and holidays to the Canaries from 31 October from Belfast International Airport.
It’s after the UK government removed the islands from the quarantine list.
The leading leisure airline and package holiday specialist will resume flights to Tenerife Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura (all commencing from 1 November onwards) from all nine of its UK bases (Belfast International, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and London Stansted).
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said they welcomed the announcement.
“For some time we have been calling for a proportionate, evidence-based approach to safe travel and this is very much a step in the right direction. There is much to do still, and we look forward to working with government to achieve that,” he said.
“The Canary Islands are hugely important, both for us as a business and for our customers as a much-loved holiday favourite. We know how much our customers want to get away for some winter sun in the Canaries, and they can do this again from October 31 onwards. As the UK’s leading operator to the Canary Islands, we will be restarting with a programme that offers customers in the region fantastic choice and flexibility, as well as all the award-winning benefits that they know and love,” he added.
As well as delivering an award-winning experience, including a full food and drink service onboard, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is providing that industry-leading customer service to make everyone’s comfort, safety and well-being its number one priority.
From HEPA filters on aircraft, onboard cleaning and ensuring that everyone wears face masks throughout the flight through to in-resort care, safe transfer journeys and ensuring everything is in place for a healthy and happy holiday, the company’s full pledge to get customers back on holiday can be found at: https://www.jet2holidays.com/safe-travel and https://www.jet2.com/flights/safe-travel
To give customers even more assurance ahead of their well-deserved holidays, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have also launched a 5* Defaqto rated insurance product, which includes added COVID-19 cover for cancellations and medical claims abroad, as well as cover for travel to destinations where the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advises ‘against all but essential travel’ as a result of Covid-19.
