Jet off from Belfast to Newquay

Travellers will be able to fly from Belfast to Newquay from the end of June.

Aer Lingus Regional has announced a new service from George Best Belfast City Airport to the popular UK holiday destination.

Operated by Stobart Air, the three-times weekly flights to Cornwall Airport Newquay will begin on 28 June.

Ellie McGimpsey, Aviation Development Manager at Belfast City Airport, said Newquay has always been a popular destination served from the airport and they are delighted that Aer Lingus Regional is going to re-establish this service since it was left vacant by Flybe.

“The quick flight times and direct connectivity makes it the ideal choice for a getaway closer to home and we are confident the route will be popular with holidaymakers, families, and anyone who wants to retreat to the beach this summer,” she said.

The summer service will operate on an ATR72-600 aircraft with five now based at Belfast City Airport permanently.

Andy Jolly, Managing Director at Stobart Air, said they are pleased to add Newquay to the portfolio of flights.

“This addition further strengthens our commitment to Northern Ireland and provides passengers with frequent, convenient, and affordable services.

“We look forward to welcoming our staff and customers aboard this summer,” he added.

This service to Newquay takes the number of routes served by Belfast City Airport to 26 across the UK and Europe. The airport, the first in Northern Ireland to be awarded ACI’s Airport Health Accreditation for best-in-class COVID-19 health and safety processes, now boasts a robust route network offering choice and convenience.

Fares to Newquay start at £34.99 one way and more information, including flights options, can be found at www.aerlingus.com.
