A man armed with a knife has escaped with cash and tobacco following an armed robbery at a shop on the Ormeau Road in south Belfast.
It happened around 9am this morning (Tuesday 16 February).
Police say the man, armed with a knife, entered the shop shortly after 9am, and ordered a female member of staff to put cash and tobacco into a plastic carrier bag which he had brought with him. The man then left the shop.
The suspect is believed to be around 5ft 10” tall, of medium build and he was wearing black track suit bottoms, white trainers and a white long sleeve top with a grey bodywarmer.
He was also wearing a black bobble style hat and a blue face mask.
An investigation is underway, and detectives would ask anyone who was in the area of the Ormeau Road, near the junction with North Parade, and who witnessed this incident or has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident, to contact them at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 301 16/02/21.
