A man is being treated in hospital for a suspected fractured skull after he was attacked by a gang in North Belfast.

The 32-year-old was assaulted with what’s believed to have been either hammers or baseball bats.

The serious assault occurred after midnight this morning (Sunday) at Queen Victoria Gardens, just off Skegoneill Avenue.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment for a suspected fracture to his skull and a cut to his head.
