Police have instructed fast food chain McDonald’s to refrain from selling milkshakes near a Nigel Farage rally.
With Brexit Party supporters and protesters descending upon Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange for a rally, staff at a McDonald’s nearby were told to not serve people dairy products.

A printed sign stated: “We will not be selling milkshakes or ice creams tonight. This is due to a police request given recent events.”
Far-right figures and a Ukip candidate have had food and drink thrown at them during the European election campaign.
The former English Defence League leader, Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, had milkshakes thrown over him twice in two days while on the campaign trail in England.
But Burger King jumped on the trail too.
After the police request in Edinburgh, Burger King’s UK tweeted: “Dear people of Scotland. We’re selling milkshakes all weekend. Have fun. Love BK #justsaying”
