Outrage as hunters kill baby elephants

An American businessman has caused outrage after being photographed posing with a gun over two dead baby elephants, claiming he ‘shot them in self-defence’ in Zimbabwe.

Mike Jines, a partner with TopGen Energy in Georgia, and professional hunter Max ‘Buzz’ Delezenne were shown posing next to the two elephants with their guns.

The photograph was posted several months ago, but is still being shared widely on social media.

Users have branded the pair ‘hunting scum.’

A user posted the photo, writing: “Apologies for the disturbing photo. If you’re really upset by what you see, then make this go viral along with an email letting Mike Jines know what you think [sic].”

The user shared Jines’ email address so those who wished to let him have a piece of their mind could do so. The ploy worked as Jines was forced to defend his actions, and, according to media, the fallout from the photos got to a point where it had even started affecting his company.
