Using plastic cups and straws at festivals may be a thing of the past because concert promoter Live Nation, says it will eliminate single-use plastics at its festivals by 2021.

In the UK, that means music festivals like Reading and Leeds, Wireless and Latitude will go plastic free.

This is part of their goal to have zero waste by 2030.

Glastonbury and Bestival have also vowed to cut plastic waste.

Glastonbury previously announced it will not sell single-use plastic water bottles this year, due to concerns over the environmental impact.

Meanwhile, more than 60 other independent music festivals in the UK have also promised to get rid of single-use plastic by 2021.
