Holidaymakers who want to go on a cruise with P&O Cruises around the British Isles this summer will need to have had two COVID-19 vaccines.
Travellers will have to prove that they have had the vaccines to go on the cruises which depart from June.
The Carnival Group has said that passengers wishing to board will have to have had both vaccinations at least a week before departure dates. Travellers will also require ‘medical and repatriation cover’ as well as medical expenses related to COVID-19.
Social distancing will be in force and guests will have to wear masks when appropriate.
Two cruises on board two ships will set sail.
The Britannia will travel from Southampton along the south coast of England while the Iona will journey to Scotland from Southampton.
Anyone testing positive during the cruises will be isolated and quarantined.
P&O states on its website: For these cruises the definition of “vaccinated” is a minimum of seven days following the second dose of the currently approved COVID-19 vaccines being administered. Proof of vaccination and the dates given will be required (approved forms of evidence will be confirmed closer to time of departure) and this will be required to be shown at the terminal prior to boarding. Failure to provide this evidence will result in denial of boarding. There is no age restriction on this series of UK coastal cruises but all guests of all ages must meet the requirements of the COVID-19 vaccination policy.
