Police are investigating the sudden death of a woman in Glengormley.
The woman was found dead at a house in Collinward Park in the early hours of Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the home.
The woman is believed to have been in her 40s.
Sinn Féin Michael Goodman has expressed his shock and sadness.
Cllr Goodman he wanted to extend his sincere condolences to the family of the victim.
“It is early in the investigation but it is my understanding the the PSNI are treating this tragedy as suspicious and I would appeal to anyone with information to bring it forward to the PSNI,” he said.
In a statement a PSNI spokesman said: “Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a woman at a house in the Collinward area of Newtownabbey in the early hours of this morning, Saturday, 15 December. There are no further details at this stage.”
