Potential traffic disruption expected in Belfast

Road users are advised of potential traffic disruption in east Belfast on Saturday evening, (15 June) due to a planned parade and concert.

The parade is due to assemble at Chamberlain Street at 7pm and will proceed at 7.30pm.

Disruption in the area is expected to last until approximately 10.30pm as the parade makes its way along the Newtownards Road, Ravenscroft Avenue, Beersbridge Road and Castlereagh Road.

It will then travel along Willowfield Street, My Lady’s Road, Cherryville Street, Woodstock Road and back onto the Beersbridge Road where it will finish up in Pottinger Street.

Please be advised the parade will also coincide with a concert in Ormeau Park.

In order to facilitate expected large crowds, the Ormeau Embankment from its junction at Ormeau Road to Ravenhill Road will be closed between 4pm and 12am.

Those travelling to the concert by car should allow additional time and approach the venue from the Ormeau Road side to minimise traffic congestion in the area.
