Prince Harry has said that the popular Fortnite game ‘shouldn’t be allowed.’ He made the comments to mental health experts at a meeting on youth mental health.
He was speaking about the effects of social media and violent video games. According to The Daily Express, Prince Harry said that Fortnite is ‘created to addict, an addiction to keep you in front of a computer for as long as possible.’
He also said the game was ‘irresponsible,’ and asked ‘where is the benefit of having it in your household?’
Fortnite, the game’s creator, has come under fire from UK press as it was deemed that children were spending too much time playing the game. But it’s not just children – in 2018 shockingly, addiction to online games is thought to have contributed to 5% of all UK divorces.
