A primary school principal in northern China is getting his pupils moving with some modern dance routines.
Footage of Zhang Pengfei performing an energetic shuffle style routine with his pupils has been widely shared online by a number of sources, including the South China Morning Post.
The talented children and teachers are dancing in front of Xi Guan Primary School in Linyi county, Shanxi province.
One of the mottos on the two-storey school building reads: ‘Enjoy happy education.’
The principal told Southern Metropolis News that he and his 700 pupils needed a change.
“I wanted to introduce the [shuffle] dance … because the students and [teachers] had no interest at all in the broadcast callisthenics,” he was quoted as saying.
He added that it really gets the happiness flowing.
The school principal said he had not expected the video to generate so much interest.
