The RSPCA says the cats which were kicked and punched in a video by disgraced West Ham footballer Kurt Zouma have been taken into care.
The footballer, who is on £125,000 a week, has been fined two weeks’ wages by his club.
He has also lost his sponsorship deal with Adidas.
New animal protection laws were introduced in France in 2021, meaning that the ‘mistreatment of animals’ is now punishable by up to four years in jail and a fine equivalent to £50,000.
Zouma was booed every time he touched the ball in Tuesday night’s game and fans also chanted.
Gary Lineker said he was shocked and appalled at West Ham picking Zouma to play.
