Schools are today beginning a two-week circuit breaker to deal with the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
The extended break ends on November 2 when there will be a review.
Over the weekend over 2000 new cases were recorded.
Pubs, restaurants, beauty salons and hairdressers closed their doors at 6pm on Friday as new restrictions came into force.
Police made a number of arrests and issued fixed penalty notices at an 300-strong anti-mask protest at Stormont which was advertised as a ‘peaceful’ gathering.
While restaurants have closed, deliveries and takeaways are still operational.
